The
Old Prison Museum Complex, located in Deer Lodge,
Montana encompasses 7.5 acres. Within that 7.5
acres are 5 museums, operated by The Powell County
Museum and Arts Foundation. These museums offer
our visitor's a glimpse into the past and are
enjoyed by young and old alike.
The
Old Montana Prison ,with
it's castle-like structure, offers
a cold-stark view of prison life and the way it
use to be.
The Montana
Auto Museum displays 7 decades of automotive
history. With over 150 vehicles, we are listed
by USA Today as one
of the Top Ten "Must-See Auto Museums".
Frontier
Montana takes you back to the wild, wild west,
where the Colt was your companion of choice. Desert
John's Saloon offers up the largest whiskey
bottle display west of the Mississippi and even
has a talking bartender with a story to tell.
Yesterday's
Playthings offers a wonderful display of dolls,
toys and trains that takes you back to those wonderful
childhood days. The
Powell County Museum is the home of unusual
weapons and the local history of Powell County.
